Priyanka Chopra unplugged

She is the latest ‘Khiladi’ of B-Town, and she’s playing the role with perfection in real life, as she battles hectic schedules ahead of the release of her latest movie Anjaana Anjaani. Priyanka Chopra might wake up and feel ‘blah’ (courtesy Twitter) everyday after juggling with unending schedules and relentlessely pouring offers, but she looks mint fresh and at her energetic best when she steals out time to interact with the media.
We managed to catch up with her after waiting for one-and-a-half-hours at the Kingdom of Dreams, an entertainment and leisure destination, located in Gurgaon. She indeed looks like a dream and hardly fatigued. Her focus is sharp, her answers are smart and she is definitely a rock-star. After wrapping up the schedule of Khatron Ke Khiladi 3, Priyanka Chopra is back to the movie world. And this transformation from a Khiladi to Haseena is instant.
Anjaana Anjaani is about two people who don’t know each other and meet when they are at the lowest point of their life, that is, when they are planning to commit suicide. So does the film have any message?
“There are so many suicide cases that need to be addressed. This film compells you to re-think about the decision to end your life – imagine what could have happened in your life. You never know, happiness might be waiting at your door.”
So is this ‘Khatron Ki Khiladi’ in her perfect form after the gruelling schedules of telly land, movie world and Twitter universe? Yes, she’s fit as fiddle, except for her voice. You have to pay the cost for perfectionism. She injured her voice chords badly while shooting for a ‘scream sequence’ in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Saat Khoon Maaf. And she has a singing offer from friend Jean Sean. What will she do? “As you can see, my voice is still broken. My doctors have asked me to shut up. But I can’t, as there is so much happening. Jay is a friend. I was flattered when he asked me to sing. But as of now, I can’t.”
But that seems to be hardly a concern for Piggy Chops, who’s on the move constantly.
Though her kitty is full of movies, Don-2 is next on her agenda. We understand how special can be working with SRK for this roaringly confident actress, who was once a nervous pretty woman, answering King Khan’s question in the Miss India pageant. “Working with SRK has always been special. He’s always been a favourite actor. In Don-2, the story takes off after 3 years. Our characters remain the same.”
